Rome, August 29, 2008 – In compliance with the decisions taken by the Company’s Board of Directors today, Alitalia has requested admission to the receivership procedure as envisaged by Law no. 39 of 18 February 2004, and subsequent modifications, most recently with Decree no. 134 of 28 August 2008. The request for admission is explained in the accompanying documentation.

At the same time, as envisaged by the above-mentioned legislation, Alitalia has taken steps to file for insolvency at the Rome Court.
