US Airways Honored by FAA with 10th Consecutive Diamond Award

TEMPE, Ariz., Sep. 12, 2008 — US Airways received its tenth consecutive Diamond Award for maintenance training excellence from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its Charlotte, North Carolina hub line maintenance facility.

This is the tenth consecutive year that US Airways received the award with the distinction of Special Recognition, which is an honor given only when all eligible employees participate in the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Program. The program, which began in 1991, consists of both initial and recurrent training in FAA regulations and policy and aviation industry maintenance training.

“This award demonstrates the commitment of our AMTs to the safety and regulatory compliance of our airline, “said Mike Annan, US Airways’ Hub Manager, Charlotte Line Maintenance. “The award reflects the investment US Airways has made in the training and technical excellence of our maintenance technicians.”

In addition to its Charlotte, North Carolina hub, US Airways has hubs, and hub line maintenance facilities, in Philadelphia and Phoenix, Arizona.
