It’s already the third time when WWF (World Wild Foundation) is organizing global initiative called „Earth Hour” of which the main goal is to act against our planet biggest threat: climate change.
This initiative calls for a one hour lighting blackout in our houses, companies and public buildings.
In the previous year (28th March 2008) at 8.00 pm over 100 million participants from 35 countries joined this action. Lighting was turned off in 370 cities in 14 timezones – from Australia through Israel, Korea, up to United States.
Niagara Falls, Rome Colosseum, Sydney Opera or even Golden Gate Bridge were in darkness. In Poland lighting was turned off in Warsaw and Poznań, where over fifty buildings were in complete darkness.
This year Earth Hour in planned for the 28th of March at 08.30 p.m.
LOT Polish Airlines will actively join this initiative.
Acting with utmost care in favour of natural environment, we adress to you our proposition to participate in this global initiative, by turning off the light wherever possible and by promoting this action among your families and friends.
We are convinced that thanks to your engagement, we could jointly draw public attention to the global climate change problems and we will signal the necessity of urgent need to fight with global warming.
In order to participate in this initiative just log in in advance; www.earthhour.org and remember to turn off the light on the 28th of March at 08.30 p.m.
