In accordance with current procedures, the pilots of flight AF2686 on 28 December flying from Paris-CDG to Sofia responded to a TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System) warning above Serbian territory.
Neither the aircraft nor the passengers were in danger at any moment.
Air France is conducting an internal inquiry into the incident and has forwarded all elements relative to this flight to the two French authorities, the French Air Accident Investigation Bureau (BEA) and the French Civil Aviation Authorities (DGAC).
The aircraft – an Airbus A318 – with 70 passengers on board took off from Paris-CDG at 10:26am and landed early in Sofia at 1:39pm.
The crew consisted of 2 pilots and 3 flight attendants.
