Air France Reduces Fuel Surcharge

Thursday 4 September 2008

As the price of fuel has dropped over a significant period, Air France has withdrawn its recent fuel surcharge in accordance with its commitments, i.e.:

* 2 euros on domestic flights
* 4 euros on medium-haul flights
* 10 euros on long-haul flights
* 14 euros on very long-haul flights

This reduction is valid on tickets for trips from France, issued as from 5 September 2008.

    I know it’s a good start, going in the right direction, but it’s almost like a slap in the face… On my last trans Atlantic flight with AF, I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 in fuel surcharges.

    I guess they conditioned us to pay this fee, so it’s going to take a long time to get back to where we were.
